Preparation Resources

Dear Birch Rock Families,

We’re looking forward to a great camping season with your son! To help you and your camper get ready, we have a link on this page to our Recommended Packing List. A camp trunk is highly recommended for your child. Pack clothes, bedding, and towels that can stand up to the great outdoors and hard play. Extra socks are highly recommended!

‘Tips for Homesickness’ is a link to prepare you and your son for the sleep-away camp experience. It offers advice on minimizing homesickness, and much more, and we recommend that you read it soon after signing your son up. Please share with Directors Mike and Rich any questions or concerns you might have about our overnight summer camp after reading the guide.

A completed Medical History and completed and signed Physician Exam Form are both required annually for each camper and staff member. The Medical History can be filled out by the parent online through the Parent Login. The Exam Form is a PDF that you can download and then have your son’s physician fill out. The Exam Form is accessible from the dashboard once you log in. A photocopy of the front and back of your medical insurance card must also be mailed to camp. This is mandatory.

Birch Rock requires that the completed Medical History and Exam Form be mailed to us at least two weeks prior to your son’s arrival. We will be moving up to Lake McWain by June 1st and may be reached there at (207) 583-4478. In the meantime, feel free to contact us at our winter office (207) 741-2930.
