The gentlemen of Birch Rock were beach bound on this sunny morning.  With the best weather this week so far it was a beautiful day at Scarborough beach.  We all enjoyed some body surfing, boogie boarding, and plenty of beach games.  Footballs, frisbees, and volleyballs were whizzing by all over the place both in the water and on the sand.  My favorite beach game, Kubb, was a big hit.  It is a Swedish lawn game that involves knocking down wooden blocks with dowels.  Apparantly it was invented in the Viking shipyards by using scrap pieces of wood.  The highlight of the day was all the awesome sand structures the kids created (some of which are featured below in the pictures).  In the late afternoon we came back to camp to a Hawaiian luau with a whole roasted pig that Paul the cook had labored over all day.  It was delicious.  A great time was certainly had by all.
