Trips

You’d think that after all the packing and planning to get to overnight camp, kids would want to stay put for a while.  But, boys just can’t wait to leave on one of their scheduled overnight camping trips.

During each session, every camper has the chance to hike into the wild to try this new experience.  Hiking, sleeping in tents, and cooking on an open fire are just a few of the challenges awaiting campers.

The youngest boys get their first taste of camping by spending a night cooking dinner and sleeping out under the stars, all within five miles of camp.

"I really didn’t know what to expect when we started to set up the tents. But sleeping outside was really fun and the hot dog supper that I cooked myself was awesome! I can’t wait to do it again this summer!"

For pre-teens, there are 3 day/2 night hiking and camping adventures, often on parts of the Appalachian Trail and always in Maine or New Hampshire.

And the older boys head out for a 4 day/3 night camping expedition, often in the Rangely Lakes region of Maine.

"I didn’t think I could keep up with all that hiking. But, I did. We were so tired, so dirty, and so happy when we got back to camp. What an amazing sunset we saw from the top of that mountain."
