On the trail the views unfold slowly before your eyes, but now it is time to quicken our pace so it is onto the St. Croix River. Many have proclaimed the St. Croix as the best river in Maine, and you will see why. Located on the U.S. and Canadian border, we will be canoeing on one of the most remote waterways of the state. You will learn the art of white water canoeing, see moose and bald eagles and leave this river after five days with newfound skills and confidence in yourself and your ability to meet challenges. Get ready to sea kayak the coast! For three days and nights you will kayak among the islands and inlets of "Downeast" Maine from Cobscook base camp. Misty mornings, sunny afternoons, seals and ocean breezes make for amazing memories, and who knows, maybe will see a whale! The glaciers that carved such an incredible coast for kayaking also laid bare fabulous rock for climbing. The granite crags of Maine are perfect for this whether you are just starting or already know your way around a rock. After two days of climbing, we are off to Acadia National Park to ramp around the coastal hills and take a trip to the beach.
Our last stop is the mighty Kennebec River. Get ready for a wet, wild day of laughter and screams of exhilaration as we raft through sharp turns, dramatic drops and standing waves. As the stars come out, we shall conclude our adventure with a grand celebration and good-byes knowing that our shared experiences will last long after we have returned home. |
