Mike Mattson

Mike MattsonCamp Director. Mike and Birch Rock go back 25 years. He started as a camper, but found his true devotion to BRC as a counselor when he understood the impact he could have on a camper's life. Mike moved up as waterfront director, and then head counselor. As Camp Director, he is in charge of all daily operations and staffing responsibilities. Mike hails from the mid-Atlantic region and attended Towson State University, but he found his true home in Maine and lives here full time. His expertise in running an organization, guiding a large staff, and heading up a residential camp--- as well as his deep knowledge of Birch Rock---make him the ideal day-to-day leader. Mike also has always loved the waterfront, and enjoys spending as much time on the catwalks as possible. He is a master of skits, called 'Campfire' at BRC, and entertains the camp with his costumes and impersonations. Mike is a member of the American Camping Association.
